Last fiscal year I completed all of the BAA and CSA, but due to the fact that I was out of the country during the NLC I haven't been able to receive the awards. After my advisor trying to figure out what to do its been two months and we can't figure out what to do. Maybe after completion and approval of the programs there should be an option just to have the awards shipped instead of traveling to the NLC to receive them.... more »
A favorite game to play ever since I could understand the sense of winning and strategy was Monopoly, the long, aggressive game that many people in business come to love. Discussed about by numerous people before, I came across a discussion by Julianna Nadel (@julianna.nadel) to implement a competitive Monopoly Tournament into various events, such as the National Leadership Conference. As Area 4 Vice President for Texas... more »
When I was at my districts last CTO and adviser meeting for FBLA..we talked about ways to get officers connected throughout.there district...and I thought Mixers or parties could really help this situation...and appeals to the teen mindset..whichcould get officers talking to their brother and sister schools on recruitment and much more because theyve gotten to know them at a fbla officer event.
In order to get more people involved in the BAAs, during the month of February, a score board of chapters/states is posted comparing states with the most BAA awards completed, with a weighted scale of 1 for future to 4 for america, with the national FBLA organization rewarding a small prize or recognition to the state that comes in first- tenth on the leaderboard, with state doing such for chapters.
We should establish a program at NLC for noncompetitors where they can work with business professionals or even corporate executives in low ratios for career development/networking. After IFL, the National Leadership Conference takes place, and a majority of the action is focused on competitions. However, of the quarter million FBLA members, only a few thousand can be recognized as a competitor. Of course, there are... more »
As I was working on the Chapter Business Report, I needed to get information from many sources. Though, it was hard trying to contact the people I need to contact. Email is a hassle, the different screen names, the different domains, which email address is personal, which email is professional, and the list goes on. So, I propose we create @FBLA.org email addresses. This will be for business only, and will be transferable... more »
I would like to see pins with officers positions. Ex:
FBLA Local Chapter President, Vice President, Secretary, etc.,
There are many scholarships out there for FBLA members but when I do scholarship searches on sites such as College Board, they don't even have FBLA as an option for an organization. It would be nice if FBLA could get on the list of organizations on various scholarship sites, that way members can see their options!
I was talking to my cousin who is a former FBLA member. During his time in the club he made it to state every year. We talked about how state conventions then and now are similar and different. They had a dance when he was in school. My club and I ( I am the current president) were discussing the topic and decided to send this in asking if maybe in the near future we could possibly have a dance held at state convention... more »
We all know how awesome our own states are (FBLA and/or PBL) but we may not know how awesome other states are. Let's celebrate them with a little friendly competition (beyond the traditional Competitive Events program). The "Best Of" could recgonize the top state websites, PR material, innovative program, BAA participants, etc. This could be an yearly or once-every-two years type of program. A task force of local advisers,... more »
An adviser submitted a suggestion for an FBLA or PBL beach towel. Yes or No?
I was wondering if its possible to make the field of email addresses when we sign up members a mandatory field. Not only will ALL the members be informed as the President and Regional VPs send their email blast, but State Presidents could also have access to them so that ALL the members are more informed about whats happening around in the state and national level!
I was watching CNN a few days ago when this struck me. With there being so many business issues, the idea of student paneling with other students evenly divided in opinions would be both interesting and promising. At region it would begin with an essay on three listed business issues or maybe just one. The essays are graded based on ideas, explaination, and persuasiveness. The placing pro essay and placing con essay... more »
Because we spend so much time working to complete the different levels of BAA, members who have gotten to the America level all know how frustrating it is to have to complete the E-Portfolio. I LOVE the concept, but please, please, please, someone make a new site designer or something that isn't from the twentieth century. It's simpler to upload everything in html code than use the upload page and all that because of... more »
We should let advisers set up a subdomain (schoolname.fbla.org) that redirects to the chapters website. That way it is up to the chapter to create their own website where they see fit, but they don't have to buy a domain name.
