Ok, so we all have been apart of our local club, changed by our advisers. How many of us have felt like we didn't have a place in our local chapter? A lot of chapters have this feeling. My idea is that we have different committees throughout the chapter. I know that we already have some of these but sometimes they don't make the difference we need. In these committees we will have; President of the Committee, Vice ...more »
As I was working on the Chapter Business Report, I needed to get information from many sources. Though, it was hard trying to contact the people I need to contact. Email is a hassle, the different screen names, the different domains, which email address is personal, which email is professional, and the list goes on. So, I propose we create @FBLA.org email addresses. This will be for business only, and will be transferable ...more »
I think that we should create a new possition at the chapter and state levels for a student advisor. They would have to be a three or four year member of FBLA-PBL and be interested in acting as an assistant to the professional advisor and helping officers and members much like the profesional advisor does now. They could use their experience as a student member to help other members with problems that are unique to the ...more »
Golf is a great way to raise money for the organization. Perhaps in conjunction with the NLC.
When I was at my districts last CTO and adviser meeting for FBLA..we talked about ways to get officers connected throughout.there district...and I thought Mixers or parties could really help this situation...and appeals to the teen mindset..whichcould get officers talking to their brother and sister schools on recruitment and much more because theyve gotten to know them at a fbla officer event.
An adviser submitted a suggestion for an FBLA or PBL beach towel. Yes or No?
I believe that competition periods should be longer. I felt like it was too rushed this year at SLC. It would have been nice if it lasted an extra day or two. I live in California and our State Conference was from April 19 to April 22, and the National Conference, which is coming up, is 4 days as well ( June 29-July 2). I LOVED the State competition this year but I really wish it lasted longer, it all went so fast and ...more »
After seeing the truth of this test, it is no wonder why no one passes it. The Ms./Mr. FBL Objective Test is a 100 question test filled with every competitive event, history, and parliamentary procedure.
Isn't FBLA about being able to lead others and having a start on your career though? I feel this test should be geared more on leadership, management, parliamentary procedure, and mainly FBLA knowledge.
I was watching CNN a few days ago when this struck me. With there being so many business issues, the idea of student paneling with other students evenly divided in opinions would be both interesting and promising. At region it would begin with an essay on three listed business issues or maybe just one. The essays are graded based on ideas, explaination, and persuasiveness. The placing pro essay and placing con essay ...more »
PBL Chapters, I suggest that local chapters set up a Scholaship Fund of at least $500 per year to at least one student from one of the local FBLA chapters. This will help grow our communities, our chapters, and our members. I would advise finding a sponsor to fund the scholarship, many schools and businesses would possibly be very interested in growing their public image as well. I plan to take this into full effect once ...more »
In the cyber world we live FBLA should seek to provide members an more organized and centralized website. My suggestion would be a website similar to HOSA's which allows membership affiliation, competition affiliation, regional, state and national conference registration all on the same website while extending its services to provide online competition testing on its website. Maybe National FBLA could contact National ...more »
While many national officers and members look great at conferences, they don't seem to be following the dress code, even on stage. For the girls, the backless, spaghetti straps, or strapless dresses is frequently violated. It doesn't set a good example for the rest of the members, causes an inconsistency in enforcement, and has advisers correcting those students when the national officers don't even follow them. DECA ...more »
