An adviser submitted a suggestion for an FBLA or PBL beach towel. Yes or No?
I think that we should create a new possition at the chapter and state levels for a student advisor. They would have to be a three or four year member of FBLA-PBL and be interested in acting as an assistant to the professional advisor and helping officers and members much like the profesional advisor does now. They could use their experience as a student member to help other members with problems that are unique to the... more »
PBL Chapters, I suggest that local chapters set up a Scholaship Fund of at least $500 per year to at least one student from one of the local FBLA chapters. This will help grow our communities, our chapters, and our members. I would advise finding a sponsor to fund the scholarship, many schools and businesses would possibly be very interested in growing their public image as well. I plan to take this into full effect once... more »
While many national officers and members look great at conferences, they don't seem to be following the dress code, even on stage. For the girls, the backless, spaghetti straps, or strapless dresses is frequently violated. It doesn't set a good example for the rest of the members, causes an inconsistency in enforcement, and has advisers correcting those students when the national officers don't even follow them. DECA... more »
Last fiscal year I completed all of the BAA and CSA, but due to the fact that I was out of the country during the NLC I haven't been able to receive the awards. After my advisor trying to figure out what to do its been two months and we can't figure out what to do. Maybe after completion and approval of the programs there should be an option just to have the awards shipped instead of traveling to the NLC to receive them.... more »
In Georgia FBLA there is a monopoly tournament that concludes at the state level. I believe by taking the winning team from each state there could be a massive game of monopoly played at nationals to see who is the best in the nation. I believe this will give students the opportunity to learn more related to money and making successful deals, but would also be a fun event at nationals!
When I was at my districts last CTO and adviser meeting for FBLA..we talked about ways to get officers connected throughout.there district...and I thought Mixers or parties could really help this situation...and appeals to the teen mindset..whichcould get officers talking to their brother and sister schools on recruitment and much more because theyve gotten to know them at a fbla officer event.
the logo should be updated
A lot of money is spent for chapters to travel to the NFLCs. While the keynote Josh Shipp was awesome, the workshops were full of speakers who were just selling stuff and imparting information that most teachers could give you in school. Perhaps an integrated approach might be better, by hiring a company to produce the workshops at the NFLCs, just like the IFL. Speakers can also sign up to speak as well just like the... more »
FBLA should take the entrepreneurship competitive event and turn it into to separate events, one for the start-up type companies we're seeing today, and another for small businesses. I competed through nationals and felt that it focused too much on traditional entrepreneurship such as franchising and starting a physical store.
Develop local micro-businesses for teens with autism. (85% adults with autism are unemployed. Work with teens in your community to determine what they CAN do. Then develop product or business based on current skill set. Create market (teacher's gifts, etc.).
Live stream the final competition rounds. We already record them, we live stream NLC awards ceremony. Streaming is decreasing in cost (may be zero).
Impossible??? FFA already does it!
I was talking to my cousin who is a former FBLA member. During his time in the club he made it to state every year. We talked about how state conventions then and now are similar and different. They had a dance when he was in school. My club and I ( I am the current president) were discussing the topic and decided to send this in asking if maybe in the near future we could possibly have a dance held at state convention... more »
Mr. and Ms. Fbla should have more events besides just interview. You should also have a platform. Each candidate should have a platform they believe in and should be able to public speak about it. This event should also have a critical thinking section were you draw a ball with a question in it and you have only 20 seconds to answer that question. This event should also have a lifestyle/ fitness portion of the competition.... more »
