Many students play a stock market game in their HS business classes, and it is quite popular. The current stock market game would get more attention if you didn't have to pay for it and if it were an actual competitive event. Make this a competitive event, and it would probably be quite popular.
The competitive events handbook was re-designed this year and its looks great. While the charts are very handy, the book is confusing to follow. Go back to a 1-page description of an event, and keep the summary chart info at the beginning. It is nice to look at one page for each event that has the complete info.
A lot of money is spent for chapters to travel to the NFLCs. While the keynote Josh Shipp was awesome, the workshops were full of speakers who were just selling stuff and imparting information that most teachers could give you in school. Perhaps an integrated approach might be better, by hiring a company to produce the workshops at the NFLCs, just like the IFL. Speakers can also sign up to speak as well just like the ...more »
While many national officers and members look great at conferences, they don't seem to be following the dress code, even on stage. Although Nashville is different and can be fun (not as much as Orlando and Anaheim), perhaps the location should be re-evaluated. Increased ...more »
BPA has a greenscreen photo booth at their NLC that looks pretty cool. Very innovative and something to consider. Check it our here: http://photo.bpa.org/p594688424
I noticed a job description posted on the national website. While some experience is probably necessary and great, I think that the national office needs some new ideas coming from younger employees, since it really serves the youth. How about looking closely at a former PBL member, who is enthusiastic about FBLA. They might bring a more youthful perspective to market the organization better. BPA and DECA have a diverse ...more »
I think it would be better to move up the date for the NLCs a few days. . . away from the July 4 weekend. Sometimes, we come back on July 3 (if closing is on the 2nd), and that doesn't allow traveling for the 4th.
